My astro obsession: the Ascendant and the astrology of outer appearance 🧐

Quite early in my astro journey I started noticing patterns or correlations when it comes to people's looks and their natal charts. I think at this point I can call it my hobby, using their appearance as a big factor in my casual recrification process.

This is what I have to say on this topic after 15+ years of observing astrology:

1. What matters the most:
• rising sign, which is where the Ascendant is located
• planets & luminaries in the 1st house, AC conjunctions in particular
• other, close aspects to the Ascendant (trines, squares)
• 1st house ruler's sign
• Moon sign (I can see it sometimes in people's eyes)

0-3° conjunctions from the 12th house should not be ignored, they might show up outwardly too.

The sign position of Venus can tell us something about the native's fashion taste, but before you start analyzing their choices, ask yourself - are their favorite options affordable and available to them and safe enough to wear?

2. Planets and signs are not so different in practice.

For example:
You don't have to be a Leo rising person to have something feline about your face or a nice mane - Sun in the 1st house and Sun aspecting the AC can "deliver" some of it too!

Detailed example: if it's Scorpio rising with the Sun in the 1st house, you can expect the nose to be shorter and straighter than the classic Scorpio nose.

3. There are some tricky cases. When somebody has a crowded 1st house or it's a mix like: AC in Aries and Mars in Libra, Taurus rising but also Mars in the 1st house.

4. We live in the era of plastic surgery, cosmetic injections, AI filters and sneaky makeup. If you are dealing with a public person's chart, do your homework and conduct an online investigation to know what their natural look really is. It could be that you need to focus on their photos from their teenage years, before they changed artificially too much.

In my following posts I'm going to present my understanding of each rising sign (and more) with public figures as examples.
